It depends on the payment gateway connected to and used with Checkify. While Checkify and Stripe clients get access to over 135, PayPal and Checkify customers will get around 24 currencies. Other gateways vary based on their capabilities, so it is better to research, talk to their teams and to plan ahead.
Checkify Plus uses dynamic, real-time mid-market rates sourced from reliable third-party financial data providers. When a buyer selects a foreign currency, prices automatically recalculate based on current live rates.
You can configure an optional conversion fee ranging from 0% to 5% on top of the live mid-market exchange rate. This allows you to cover cross-border processing fees or foreign transaction costs automatically during checkout (e.g., applying a small 1.5% fee to a USD-to-EUR exchange rate).
To put it simple, currency conversion = display. Your checkout page automatically estimates and displays the total order value in the buyer’s local currency so they understand the cost, but the actual transaction is processed in your account’s main (default) currency.
